A Tear Evaporates

“A Tear Evaporates”

Against the pen.
Against the ink,
I’ve begun to think.

Perhaps I’ve worn out my welcome.
Worn out the paper.
Worn out the pen.

Perhaps the words,
I say,
Come again and again.

Eyes grow tired,
Just like souls.
In the stories always told.

The back grows tired,
So do the ears.
As I attempt to impart my fears.

A scream becomes a cry.
A cry becomes a tear.
A Tear evaporates.
Why should I fear?
