Met you
quick.
Fell in love
quicker.
I think that
makes the pain,
So much
thicker.
By all
rights I should be over,
All of this
by now.
Broken,
shattered hollowed out.
But it doesn’t
help even if I shout.
From an early
age I knew,
I knew I
should never fall into love.
Still I did,
Did I believe
that I was above?
Was I conceited?
Or just
taking the chance?
I was so
taken in,
Paralyzed by
the oh so simple dance.
So, I rolled
the dice,
I suppose there
is no shame.
After all
these years I still wonder,
