What We Are

“What We Are”

I am not here,
Not anymore.
I am not,
What I was before.

Before there was something,
Something I had remaining.
But now I live where,
It is only raining.

I am not,
Someone who is strong.
I am someone,
Who no longer belongs.
Adrift on a warm wind,
Memories of when I had friends.
And today I drift.
Knowing everything ends.

We are built,
By nothing from afar,
And we will never be nothing more than,
What we are.

The Past

“The Past”

The picture fell on the floor.
The frame and glass shattered.
And beyond the horizon,
Nothing mattered.
But we live here in the broken mess,
We live in the remnants of what lasts.
Haunted by all the memories,
Of the past.
So like the past,
Life drifts away.
But hangs in your soul,
Waiting for words to say.
