"All Of These Words"

Word follows word.
Line follows line.
Hoping I will be better,
It just takes time.

Stanza follows stanza.
Verse follows verse.
An unknown life,
We can't rehearse.

Poem follows poem.
Page follows page.
What is the price of wisdom?
Only pain and age.

I stare at the pages.
The time and pain endured.
I realize, I'm only the shadow,
To all of these words.
