“A Tear Evaporates”
Against the pen.
Against the ink,
I’ve begun to think.
Perhaps I’ve worn out my welcome.
Worn out the paper.
Worn out the pen.
Perhaps the words,
I say,
Come again and again.
Eyes grow tired,
Just like souls.
In the stories always told.
The back grows tired,
So do the ears.
As I attempt to impart my fears.
A scream becomes a cry.
A cry becomes a tear.
A Tear evaporates.
Why should I fear?
