It Lingers
“It Lingers”
Sometimes I am struck with words.
I pick up a pen and I write.
My soul against the morning,
Against the sun so bright.
But I never can convey,
I can never get it out.
Maybe if I could sing,
Somehow shout it out.
It lingers.
Everyone tells you it will not.
It lingers.
It always does.
Moments swallowed by the present.
Forever shadowed,
In what was.

Vanessa Williams- Colors of the wind (with lyrics)
...this is one of my favorite songs. There's a deep wisdom in this one.
