Hope, Flesh and Bone

Photobucket

“Hope, Flesh and Bone”

Sometimes I want to reach out,
Then I remember the stark reality.
That with such harsh crystal clarity,
Has been shown to me.

So I’m forced to wonder,
What is the point in any of this.
When you know you are wasting your breath.
With every wish.

That the wood and asphalt,
The concrete and stone.
Will always last longer,
Than hope, flesh and bone.

Honesty is a matter of ones perspective,
Dependant upon what we need.
That the most powerful impulse,
Is simply greed.

So we waste our time,
With wish, hope, even prayer.
And left with the stark reality,
That no one is there.

Sometimes I want to reach out,
Then I remember the stark reality.
That with such harsh crystal clarity,
Has been shown to me.
